Fire Safety Awareness Seminar

As part of its on-going programme on staff welfare and safety, EIG Bhd organised a Fire Safety Awareness Seminar for its staff on Wed, 21 March 2007. The seminar, conducted by Mr Thomas Wong of the Public Fire Safety & Prevention Education Centre at EIG head office in Wisma EIG, Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, Selangor, was attended by more than 100 employees including students of EWI Academy located there.

During the seminar, Thomas shared with the audience how a fire usually started whether at home and in the office, the various fire-fighting tools and how we can prevent a fire from occuring. He also highlighted the various fire fighting techniques and gave a demonstration of the effectiveness of certain fire-fighting tools.

Everyone left the meeting feeling more knowledgeable and relief on fire safety. The EWI Academy students also felt more comfortable and appreciated the care and concern shown by EWI Academy in including the students in the seminar. They were pleased that EWI Academy not only aimed for excellent academic and technical skills results but also places great emphasis on students�� welfare and safety.
